Here’s one I made earlier….
Hahaha yes, hello I’m here! As you know, I moved the fam to the U.S of A a mere 13 days ago. Being THE eternal optimist I expected to shoot that first week & therefore barely skip a beat of posting both to the Blog & Instagram.
Let’s pause to gather ourselves from the hysterical laughter that statement provoked…
O.K so settling in has taken a teeny tiny bit more work than I anticipated. Never the less I’m here now so let’s crack on with some gorgeous Spring fashion shall we? God knows I could use the distraction from endless form filling. Don’t worry you’ll get all nine yards of the rant once I’ve gathered my thoughts & placed them sanely in order. Meanwhile it’s lucky I had this post in the can, since I am no longer in possession of my Nikon DSLR. Although I do have a tripod & remote control if anyone wants them? Ack, have you been following my Insta Stories? I left my camera on the plane! I know, what a knob! Didn’t forget Hello Kitty though did I? Ffs….she let’s out an almighty sigh.
Moving on…Just before I left the U.K The Bias Cut asked me to choose an outfit to showcase their new Spring collection. Since I’ve worked with them before & adore the labels they stock, how could I resist one last shoot? I have to tell you, a lot of fabulous pieces are in this SS18 but my eye will always be drawn to a long-sleeved dress & this one is simply divine. The Abbia dress by Baum Und Pferdgarten has all my favourite elements from it’s dark floral print & sport luxe cuffs to the sheer ruffle detail & midi length. Yet the dress isn’t over-done nor is it trying too hard to be on trend. I could just as easily have styled it with a chunky knit cardi & boots or more casually unbuttoned the neck & paired with sneakers.
This design offers a great deal of versatility even if at first it isn’t obvious. As the weather warms up, push the sleeves up! Throw on a denim jacket & Ancient Greek sandals for cool Summer evenings. What’s more, you can remove the under-slip to wear the dress sheer over your cozzie on holiday! Sexy right?

THE BEEHIVE BASKET BAG
Before waxing lyrical on the delicate beauty of this bag, I must thank my dear friend Fatima for introducing me to Estee-Rose London. Mwah FT! I urge you all to visit her blog, this lady can write! I know you’ll love her as much as I do.
Founder of Estee-Rose London, Jane King ethically sources a unique collection of exquisite straw bags. I couldn’t resist the stunning Beehive – Don’t you just love the name? The detailed, intricate craftmanship is obvious, there’s no doubt about the incredible quality here. In addition to owning a work of art, buying one of these bags directly supports the artisan. It’s nice to have a piece of fashion that’s not made by a machine & also keeps an ancient craft alive. ERL has more Spring styles coming, like this lemon sorbet circle bag. I think these bags will be a huge hit for many years to come & well worth the investment…
OTHER WAYS I’VE WORN IT
Not much of a list here today I’m afraid. This is my first shoot of the Beehive, however you will see it again very soon. This fabulous dress was on loan from The Bias Cut purely to showcase their excellent new collection. If I wasn’t flat broke from the recent move Stateside I’d have bought it in a heartbeat! I still might…
*Dress fits true to size – I’m wearing a size 10
Let’s catch up soon lovelies so much to tell you! xx

What a great look! The dress, the bag, the shoes….they all work together beautifully! Welcome to the US! Hope the paperwork deluge subsides soon. 🙂

Thanks Susan! It hasn’t yet but I’m less concerned now that the children are in school. I still have to get my social security number (dreading the queue) but at least I have the new camera arriving tomorrow WooHoo!xx

Yup 🙁 Dufus
Mind you I think the fallout from losing Hello Kitty would have been far greater so you know, it aint all bad xx
No Fear of Fashion
I must say, it is a beauty of a dress, but I am flat broke as well. Plus, that neckline is wrong for me. Plus I have gained weight, sitting on my bum for 4 weeks because of that knee and the end is not yet in sight. My weekend in Paris April 20 is even becoming a bit of a question mark.
I had a look at the basket bags and I really like the round black one. I will keep it in mind.
Hope all your boxes are unpacked by now.

And by the way I agree with you, the black circle is loverly….no no no more bags! Ugh stop me, I’m as bad as you when it comes to bags 😉

Thank you darling Lisa. I know you’re right but it’s hard not to feel anxious about losing traction on the blog when I’m away from it. You have such a healthy perspective on all this, unsurprisingly xx
ratnamurti
gorgeous dress, plus I suspect that it not only makes you look good, but that you also make IT look good! Best wishes for your new life.
Petite teacher
Such a lovely dress and that bag is absolutely cute. Good to hear that you have kind of settled down as well, enjoying your life at the other side of the ocean. I mostly liked your remark about the fantastic support your son Jasper gets from his new teacher, not following the standard teaching programme and approach, but making things tailor-made for someone with a need for a different approach. You must feel extremely happy! Love, Lieske
MT
As a matter of fact, the support Jasper is already getting has been the highlight so far Lieske xx
