WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING? MY REVIEW ON PIGMENTATION

What is microneedling? Is it safe to do at home? Does it work on mature skin?

These are a few of the questions I heard before trying home microneedling for myself. Microneedling or collagen induction therapy as it’s otherwise known, is the process of running a roller of fine needles over the face in a cross-hatch pattern. The idea is to create thousands of microscopic wounds that kick start collagen repair whilst simultaneously creating microscopic channels. These channels allow your serum to penetrate deeper into the skins layers thus improving their efficacy. As pigmentation is my main concern with skin texture coming a close second, I chose 0.05 needles with a gentle serum to start. The size of the needle & the type of serum you use depends on what you’re treating. Although I did err on the side of caution starting carefully, I now feel confident enough to move onto the much stronger Vitamin C serum.

I must admit, I had to work up my courage the first time I used the dermaroller. It was pretty scary but as with most things, the thought of it was far worse than the reality. For that reason, I decided to include quite a lot of the roller in action. If you get bored just fast forward that part.

Thanks for watching dear friends, without you there would be no blog or Youtube channel & so I am very grateful, Mx

P.S. As usual I’ve linked everything for you below the video.

*DISCLOSURE – This is my actual skin (not touched-up) which is far from perfect. However I do have filler & a small amount of botox that you should take into consideration when judging these results. Mind you, neither of those things will improve skin texture so I can see the dermaroller combined with serum has helped there.

THANK YOU so much Michelle for this video! You know it’s really weird., just the other day I’ve been watching a video of Filorga misotherapy session at their clinic and got really scarred. I mean I’ve been considering needling for a while, but seeing blood on people faces after that sort of procedures completely cured me from having one done. That is, until I saw your video. Now, I know that it’s a question of getting the right needles (not too long) and starting small. You’ve. convinced me, Michelle. I will definitely give a try. So thank you very much for showing us how it’s done RIGHT! Sending you lots love! xx Abby

Yikes that is scary Abby! I know what you mean, I’ve seen some pretty brutal videos of microneedling where they draw blood & even recommend it! I am in no way convinced that’s the right thing to do. Let me know how you get on love xx
